throes of woes

dragging the acrid albatross

its sullenness, a slow poison

rehashing its woes

embittered and lost in its self-constructed throes

much too indignant to let go of its ire

words tearing through like rusted barbed wire

its rage blind to the weight of its anchoring remorse

as it gathers ever close

louder and starker does it seems to crow

cawing lamentably at your hurried hushed whispers of

“let it go now…let it go…”

until it is you

who is undeniably cursed by its irrevocable lows.
