May Time Gift Us

May Time gift us its Timelessness in Love

May the ardent awaken and share its want like it has been touched anew

May the wantings and yearnings become every so often rekindled

May the rosy tints adorn you lovingly however many shadows may loom

May you at times replace maturity and its instilled propriety

for that irresistible rakish charm

May romance gather around leisurely

wreathing us once again with

that heady perfume of shared Happiness

May trials and troubles emerge as surmountable

As your hand still holds mine

As my heart still holds yours

i know.

i know that look!
i know every word that is unspoken,
that lies within that look.
[why do so many share the same?]
that little jump, that little crinkled brow,
the little voice that inside echoes: ‘why are you this way?’

i know those words!

i see every word before it is spoken,
it lies within your mind
and spills forth from confidence assured,
[why do so many share the same?]
that little quirky smile, that little tingling fear,
the casual-sounding voice stammers: “you’re not like the others”

i know that very thought!
i hear it before it is even formed,
it lies within your questioning soul
and struggles to come forth,
[why do so many share the same?]
that little contemplation, that little preoccupation,
the little wonder that catches you by surprise: “why do you not belong?”

yes but none ever voice nor think nor see…
that i cannot help,
but be me.

edit fit

love me like i belong

i do not fit

but here i sit

and refuse to be removed

countless times

you’ve read it

what need more

is there to edit?

i mess up the flow

have no profound meaning to add or show

adjectives pretend to be my friends

but honestly are much too clingy

and those obnoxious adverbs affect me quite adversely

but do not…do not replace me

with those presumptuous ellipses

i do not rhyme

and have no rhythm

but i have been here so very long

so just love me

like i belong
