magic trick

candied words

subdue

questions.

iloveyous

wreath the unanswered.

recalling all

the good

the happened

the known

waylaying the unknown for another day…

a magic trick that works only because i stay silent.

earnestness urging patience

to gather its resolve

once again

ebb and return

Be my confidence

when the tide ebbs

speak through my anxiety

and remind me it will return again

maybe softly lapping at the shore

maybe thunderously crashing on the rocks

maybe only wanting to…meaning to…but just not getting the chance

maybe just trusting that i am its steady beacon and not some wayward flotsam

but assure me through the fluster

that the tide will return

however many times it may ebb

Petits XIII

one day you’re going to catch on

step back and pause

and know your inkling was right all along

***

tainted i agree

and stained indelibly

as much as i do

to out its residue

it bleeds it bleeds

it seeps into my very being

***

don’t believe in me

i’ll only let you down

don’t profess your trust

i’ll fall prey to suspicious thoughts

don’t hold out your hand

i just may brush it away

don’t uphold me in any way

i just might drag you down with me

odd leveler

why do i sigh (a little relieved)

when fear comes tumbling out of your mouth

your urgent words collide into each other

in their haste to express what i hardly have the courage to sum up

and therefore reply with silence

(and a deeply quiet marvel)

at how insecurity is such an odd leveler

an overlooked equaler

May Time Gift Us

May Time gift us its Timelessness in Love

May the ardent awaken and share its want like it has been touched anew

May the wantings and yearnings become every so often rekindled

May the rosy tints adorn you lovingly however many shadows may loom

May you at times replace maturity and its instilled propriety

for that irresistible rakish charm

May romance gather around leisurely

wreathing us once again with

that heady perfume of shared Happiness

May trials and troubles emerge as surmountable

As your hand still holds mine

As my heart still holds yours

the past has passed

i know you search me with your eyes

and wonder why my love waxes and wanes

why i accept your love with a haunted wounded wavering

…the past has passed and the scars have all but healed…

…the past has passed and its lessons learned…

…the past has passed and all those who did not stay are not missed…

and yet i and my soul remain in the clutches of its grasp….

gather the visions

gather the visions, that have not come true
do not let them scatter
they will only sneak in later
ready to inflate and flatter
what is not possible.

gather the dreams, all broken and torn
do not let them fly
they will only land later
and once again pry.

gather the lies, all found and spoken
do not let even one survive
they will only bleed in later
ready to further deprive.

gather all the loves forsaken
do not let them stay
they will only linger and linger
waiting to betray.

fix this

i can’t fix this

something has given away at the seams

an eyeless needle

is all i possess

so come and sew me up

stitched through and through with scars

but patched up with your kisses

 i will threaten

to fall to pieces

all you need to do

is pull the right string

i await to be entangled

in the chaotic confines

of our harmonious mess

there is nothing better than that

which makes me say nothing but yes…

and so i know now

and so i know now

but before

i could only accumulate

reasons that were true before

and though they were not given by you

they spoke for you in your absence

until your words came to my heed

until your voice came like a soothing balm

of what you thought was true

of what you hoped i knew

but what i dared not believe

until it came from you

two little saplings

two little saplings

their limbs cannot hear
each others’ leaves rustling
shushes of sweet nothings
they only feel the soft caress of whispered wants

their leaves cannot see
how with each season
the branches reach, yearning towards them
they only feel a newborn tendril’s touch

their hearts enclosed in trunk
spread out their rooted love
and rejoice
when they taste
the same rain
and bask in the same warmth

two old gnarled trees
know of a love
they feel it within
beyond what they know

but they know.
